Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Boundmaps website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

Description of Service

Boundmaps provides a free directory of KML boundary files for U.S. states, counties, and ZIP codes. These boundary files are derived from the U.S. Census Bureau's TIGER/Line geographic data and are provided for informational and mapping purposes.

Permitted Use

You may use our services to:

  • Browse and search for boundary files
  • Download KML files for personal or commercial use
  • Use downloaded files in mapping applications such as Google My Maps, Google Earth, QGIS, ArcGIS, and similar software
  • Incorporate boundary data into your own applications or visualizations

Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to bulk download files in a manner that disrupts our services
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data
  • Redistribute our website or service itself (redistributing downloaded boundary files is permitted)
  • Use our services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Misrepresent the source or accuracy of boundary data

Data Accuracy and Disclaimer

Our boundary files are derived from the U.S. Census Bureau's 2020 TIGER/Line Shapefiles. While we strive to provide accurate data:

  • Boundaries may not reflect the most current official designations
  • ZIP code boundaries are based on Census ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTAs), which are approximations of USPS ZIP code delivery areas
  • Data should not be used for legal boundary determinations or official purposes without verification from authoritative sources

THE SERVICE AND ALL DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Intellectual Property

The Boundmaps website, including its design, logos, and original content, is owned by Boundmaps and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

The underlying geographic boundary data is derived from U.S. Census Bureau data, which is in the public domain. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the downloaded KML boundary files without restriction.

User Information

To download files, you must provide your name and email address. By providing this information, you consent to receive communications from us about our services. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BOUNDMAPS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:
